    Default Lullabies

So I'm sitting here at work with a nice long job printing and working on a iTune playlist for my kiddies to go to sleep by. The songs that came with their mp3 player got old about 3 weeks after we started playing them for them.
I was only going to put a few on a little iPod shuffle but have somehow ended up with 3 and a half hours worth

    The first 10 are:
The Beatles: Here Comes The Sun
The Police: Tea in the Sahara
    Dixie Chicks: Lullaby
    The Beatles: Mother Nature's Son
    Dire Straits: Why Worry
Norah Jones: The Long Day is Over
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers: Alright For Now
Billy Joel: Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)
Willie Nelson: Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain
The Notting Hillbillies: Blues Stay Away From Me

So... what would your playlist be like if you made one or would make one?

I would add some Chopin and Wagner.

I bought a Celtic lullaby Cd for my youngest. Once I played a POW WOW Cd too. That may be why she plays the drums now. I HATE ipods and making playlists.

Too vague. Gimme actual recordings I could consider.
My main focus was to provide relaxation, to put them out without using pillow therapy. Tossed out a lot of songs I thought would be great and then had to scrounge just to find something that could go on by, say, Jimi Hendrix - most of his songs are very up tempo, so to say.

Chopin would be good. It's a little cliche, but I've always favored Brahms to fall asleep to.

Any of Chopin's nocturne's would be good and I like Brahms' piano Trios Nos. 1,2, and 3. Wagner is a little too up tempo for me for sleep, but that's really just personal preference.

Or you could make it so consul's can post three vid's per thread? Videos should be more lax on double posting rules.

    That's something to be considered.

Also, Dan, sorry for taking this off topic.

    Back to lullabies for children.

Glad you agree. I think we should delete to clear up this space.

I can't post the music video, since it shows guys in thongs...but, Dan, this is the perfect suggestive music for your children.

Jack Johnson's Curious George soundtrack makes pretty good sleepy-time music for kids. Mine listened to it for about 3 months straight.

Nice cover of the White Stripes "We Are Going To Be Friends"

Also, Enya makes good nighttime music.

Also, not sure "lullaby" would be the best name for it, but music from down-tempo bands like Morcheeba, Hooverphonic and Zero 7 always helps me get kinda zone out before I sleep.

    Or the Garden State soundtrack.

Check out some more of this guy's classical guitar renditions of modern songs. Here Micheal Lucarelli is doing 'I can't help falling in love'

This may not be safe for work, but it is an excellent lullaby.

The entire album 11:11 by Rodrigo y Gabriela. It's all guitar work, and it's brilliant.

Also, I don't believe Sap knows what a lullaby is. I saw Blister in the Sun first, and was like, NOPE .
