    Season's greetings to everyone.
And now I'll tell you what's against us, an art that's lived for centuries. Go through the years and you will find what's blackened all of history. Against us is the law with its immensity of strength and power - against us is the law! Police know how to make a man a guilty or an innocent. Against us is the power of police! The shameless lies that men have told will ever more be paid in gold - against us is the power of the gold! Against us is racial hatred and the simple fact that we are poor.

In the 3rd century, the date of birth of Jesus was the subject of both great interest and great uncertainly. Around AD 200, Clement of Alexandria wrote:
There are those who have determined not only the year of our Lord's birth, but also the day; and they say that it took place in the 28th year of Augustus, and in the 25th day of [the Egyptian month] Pachon [May 20] … And treating of His Passion, with very great accuracy, some say that it took place in the 16th year of Tiberius, on the 25th of Phamenoth [March 21]; and others on the 25th of Pharmuthi [April 21] and others say that on the 19th of Pharmuthi [April 15] the Savior suffered. Further, others say that He was born on the 24th or 25th of Pharmuthi [April 20 or 21]. [59]

In other writing of this time, May 20, April 18 or 19, March 25, January 2, November 17, and November 20 are all suggested. [8] [60] Various factors contributed to the selection of December 25 as a date of celebration: it was the date of the winter solstice on the Roman calendar; it was about nine months after March 25, the date of the vernal equinox and a date linked to the conception of Jesus; and it was the date of a Roman pagan festival in honor of the Sun god Sol Invictus.

All hail Sol Invictus. Celebrate the glorious birth of Mithras. Then have a great Saturnalia.

One of my bosses got us a gift basket to cheer us up while we worked on Christmas eve...but people have yet to take the bananas, and I'm starting to think we may be in for an unhappy New Year surprise.

I got a Christmas Turkey (they gypped us on the ham), and I also got a 40 lb box of Del Monte Bananas with CRT enhancements for $3.

CRT stands for Controlled Ripening Technology. Which is standard fare for all non organic bananas now. They keep them in a gas chamber for a few hours which causes them to ripen, and stay ripe for a few days. It's why organic bananas take forever to ripen and then turn black a day after they do.

The more you know, the less you wanna eat.

Like, the orange industry uses a known carcinogen orange dye to brighten the fruit. Which is why organic oranges are never as vibrant as regular. The FDA says through studies that the carcinogen doesn't penetrate the peel. But you wonder, when you tear off the peel or cut it with a knife, how much dye is being transferred to the meat inside?
