Better question is if paparazzi falls under freedom of press or harassment, stalking, and voyeurism and violates the celebrities right to privacy.
Because it is a distraction from their own life, and a showing of what they could have/want to work for.

I try. I'm a Slytherin, so I am supposed to be witty. Just trying to do my House proud.
Actors, musicians, authors, etc. all produce media that accompanies our lives. I can remember listening to Stevie Wonder as a kid playing outside when his Songs To The Key of Life was released, as well as growing up with Happy Days (I learned more about right and wrong from Mr. C than I ever did from my mom). We don't know these people at all, but the moments we were exposed to them, shared time with them were/are ingrained in us as we age. They become de facto family and when we lose them we are effected as such.
The interest in their private lives comes from a misguided attempt to see if they are truly similar to ourselves.
Personally, I think Xanax should be added with fluoride in the water supply.
