Ok, because of the LotR factor, you can vote more than once in this poll.

    Pick your favourites and vote.
And now I'll tell you what's against us, an art that's lived for centuries. Go through the years and you will find what's blackened all of history. Against us is the law with its immensity of strength and power - against us is the law! Police know how to make a man a guilty or an innocent. Against us is the power of police! The shameless lies that men have told will ever more be paid in gold - against us is the power of the gold! Against us is racial hatred and the simple fact that we are poor.

I can't decide if I should just vote for all the films I like, or if I should restrict my voting to films I actually consider to be fantasy by my own judgement!

Ah, one of the great moral questions of our times. You must vote your conscience, sir.

The community decides what is fantasy, and you follow their judgment!

The only one I remember stars the marvellously talented, vastly funny and sadly deceased Gene Wilder. That's what we're talking about, yes?

And The Princess Bride was second, which was a nice surprise.

Didn't vote for it -- doesn't count as fantasy.

Comedy is a separate genre. *grumble grumble*

Still comedy. Comedy is separate! Gosh. Serious fantasy and not-serious fantasy are separate and also people who mix ketchup and mayonnaise are also unacceptable.

    Oh. Mah. Gump.
You cannot possibly break down genres more than they already are for the purposes of the polling!! That reminds me - The Warrior's Way should have been included! Fantasy/Western/Ninja/Family movie!

It's two, two, two films in one.

It is a comedic fantasy. It has at least as much in common with, say, Ladyhawke or The Hobbit as it does with Animal House or Dumb and Dumber.

It should be noted that many comedies have fantasy/sf elements. Going down a list of top-grossing conedies, you have Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Big, Toy Story, Back to the Future, and so on.

You also have romantic comedies, historical comedies.... In fact, I think Shakespeare had something to say about art with multiole genres.
And now I'll tell you what's against us, an art that's lived for centuries. Go through the years and you will find what's blackened all of history. Remind me once the new forum is up and running and I'll do it. I've been planning a bunch of entertainment media polls - films, TV, bands, books..... Things to inaugurate the new forum.
